North Star NP currently has two hiring opportunities due to growth:

Bookkeeper-Part Time 

Summary 

The Bookkeeper provides accounting and administrative support to North Star NP and various customers.   This is a flexible, non-exempt part-time position working for North Star NP, a great place to work! Join a small team of dedicated professionals who help nonprofits fill the technology gap.  

 Job Duties: 

  • Record and pay accounts payable 
  • Create invoices and receive accounts receivable 
  • Create financial statements and related financial reports 
  • Run payroll. Remit payroll taxes, sales taxes, use taxes, and income taxes 
  • Reconcile bank accounts  
  • List allocations of grant funds 
  • Collect information as needed for the annual audit 
  • Monitor cash levels 
  • Other duties as assigned 

 Qualifications:  Education and Experience 

  • High school graduate; AA or BA in relevant field preferred 
  • Previous experience with nonprofit payroll and accounting.  
  • Quickbooks experience a plus. 

 Qualifications:  Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

  • High degree of customer service and follow-through. 
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to handle multiple demands. 
  • Flexibility to meet unexpected requests. 
  • Ability to work effectively with vendors and customers. 
  • Pass a background check 
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle 

 Salary and Schedule 

Hourly salary DOQ. Position is part-time, approx. 4-16 hours/week. Hours can usually be scheduled based on availability, and are usually weekdays during day hours. Occasional on-call. Duties will be performed on-site at our Saint Paul office or at customer locations.

IT Administrator – part-time

Summary

The Windows Server Administrator ensures the stability, integrity and efficient operation of information systems. This is a flexible, non-exempt part-time position working for North Star NP, a great place to work! Join a small team of dedicated professionals who help nonprofits fill the technology gap.

Job Duties:

  • Monitor, maintain, support, and optimize networked software and associated operating systems on Windows server 2012, Windows exchange 2013, office 365 and Windows SBS 2011.
  • Implement server and desktop software maintenance & updates.
  • Implement domain; name, email, DNS, and Cpanel changes.
  • Maintain a comprehensive back-up program.
  • Identify, communicate, and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefit of our customer’s IT systems.

Qualifications:  Education and Experience

  • Professional experience with at least two of the following: Windows server 2012, Windows exchange 2013, office 365 or Windows SBS 2011.
  • Have a basic knowledge of how to use a ticketing system.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of troubleshooting and removing malware/viruses/etc.
  • Certifications a plus.
